Total Merchant Services announces free terminal upgrade program featuring EMV/NFC enabled devices from Ingenico
Woodland Hills, Calif. (May 11, 2015) – Total Merchant Services today announced the launch of its new, free terminal upgrade program for all existing merchants. Under this program, all current clients are eligible for a free upgrade to the EMV- and NFC-ready Ingenico iCT220 standalone countertop device.
Because the iCT220 features NFC technology, merchants who take part in the upgrade will be able to accept all major forms of contactless payment including Apple Pay, Google Wallet and Samsung Pay (effective June 2015). The devices are also EMV capable, so they offer the most up-to-date fraud prevention technology and are ready for the October 1, 2015 EMV mandate. Additionally, as they feature Telium 2 technology, these terminals offer high-speed transaction approval – a “must have” among SMBs.
“Total is committed to providing our merchants the right technology in this rapidly-changing payment industry. With these Ingenico devices, we’re offering our customers the EMV technology they need to stay compliant, plus the NFC technology they want, to accept transactions from smartphones and watches,” said Joe Kaplan, CEO of Total Merchant Services. “This is just the beginning. We have plans to make significant investments in technology in the future to help our merchants grow and manage their business.”
The introduction of the free terminal upgrade program is not only beneficial to Total’s merchants but also to the company’s sales partners. Kaplan added, “With these leading edge payment devices, our sales partners can provide SMBs the best the industry has to offer. This translates into greater customer retention and a better opportunity for our sales partners to build a long-term business relationships with our merchants.”
Total and Ingenico first partnered for the free terminal placement program for new customers in October 2014. Since then, nearly 25,000 devices have been delivered to U.S. and Canada-based merchants.
